Route from Inuyama Station

Once you head west after exiting Inuyama Station’s ticket gate, you will be able to see Inuyama Castle from the front window.

Walk down the stairs to your right and proceed along with the roundabout. You will come to the Inyama Station West Intersection. Cross the intersection and walk straight. You will see the Inuyama Castle Town once you turn right at the Honmachi Intersection. You will arrive at the base of the Shiroyama after walking through the castle town.

Route from the base of the Shiroyama

There are three available routes from the base of the Shiroyama.

The Ticket Office will be to your right after climbing the stone steps on any of the routes. The donjon will become visible after passing through the front entrance gate.

Otemichi Course

This route, following the Otemichi (Tokakudo), has been used since the construction of the castle.

Sanko Inari Shrine Course

This route passes through the grounds of the famous lovers’ shrine: Sanko Inari Shrine.

Haritsuna Shrine Course

This route passes through the grounds of Haritsuna Shrine: a shrine that has been in Inuyama for over 1000 years.
